The Rio Marié in the Brazilian Amazon is the largest peacock bass fishery in the world and a wonderful choice for exciting jungle fishing. Not only is the Rio Marié a prolific bass fishery it also holds more IGFA fly fishing world records than any other destination and has the highest number of 20lb-plus fish ever recorded. Any angler catching one of these rare specimens is inaugurated into the Marié 20-pounder club, receiving a commemorative hat along with their feat immortalized in the Hall of Fame, with a photo and story of their epic battle.
If you fancy an angling challenge then this is one of the finest. These aren’t ordinary fish, they are jungle gangsters! These beasts break leaders, straighten hooks, and test even the most seasoned of anglers. Hooking one is a thrill. Landing one is a milestone. It’s that moment, when power, precision, and persistence come together, that defines a true legend of the Amazon.
