The Trentino region boasts more than 300 km of streams and rivers along with nearly 300 lakes and provides a plethora of fly fishing opportunities. Brown trout are the most widespread species and are found in the high mountain streams and all the way down to the larger rivers exiting the Alps. As the rivers grow, so does the number of species, with the cool swift flows making a perfect home for spectacularly marked marble trout and challenging grayling. Fly fishers may also encounter rainbow trout, brook trout, and Arctic char (in several high-altitude lakes).
The variety of fishing on offer means that there is something for just about everyone, whether you want to exclusively fish dry flies, enjoy modern nymphing techniques, or like to target big fish on streamers. The mountain streams are rapid and boulder strewn making for challenging wading in parts. Once the rivers open out, pools often provide nice easily waded gravel beds.
The guide team is hugely knowledgeable and can tailor the day to suit each angler and the conditions at hand. They speak good English and are always happy to advise on equipment and flies as well as the local fauna and flora.
There is a wide variety of hotels that we work with in the area, but we do tend to favour the Miraval Hotel. The warm-welcoming, family-run hotel is situated in the heart of Non valley in Coredo, a small mountain top town in the region. Along the plateau of Predaia, surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites, the Miraval Hotel was built in the 1960s, owned by the Rizzardi family since 1985. The peace and quiet of the Alpine landscapes and the wonderful location kissed by the sun, makes Miraval a great place to stop. The recently renovated rooms offer a range of comforts to allow you to relax and enjoy this wonderful region. The hotel features the beautiful Alpina SPA, along with a traditional restaurant to taste delicious Italian food with exquisite local wines. Aside from wonderful fishing, the area is well placed to experience various amazing activities such as rafting, canoeing, horse riding, hiking and many more.
Trentino is rich in history, with its castles, museums, and traditions, and it is near art cities such as Verona, the capital of music with its famous Arena, and Venice with its romantic canals. All this makes Trentino a must see stop-over which combines fishing and art, culture, trekking and good cuisine, surrounded by the natural amphitheatre of the Dolomites..
