For those of you who are looking to extend their salmon fishing season a little further we have a unique opportunity to help in the scientific tagging programme being conducted on the Stora Laxa this October. This project has been funded to investigate the spawning behaviour of the salmon on Stora Laxa. It is part of a five year plan and your chance to help glean more knowledge on the habitat and spawning cycle.
There will be two fish biologists and two assistants who will be conducting the tagging programme. Last year when test fishing they caught approximately 20 salmon per day when only fishing three hours a day to three rods. They landed 20 fish over one metre, all on floating lines and normal sized flies.
Cost is only for food and lodging and the fishing & tagging is over a 2 or 4 day period. The price for two days is £2,200 per room, or £1,100 per person based on shared room.
