Skeena Spey Lodge
On the banks of the Skeena River. Private launch with fantastic rooms, food and guide team.
The Skeena River in British Columbia is famous for large wild steelhead and Pacific salmon and the strength of the fish combined with the fast shallow waters make for some memorable encounters. The fabulous guide team at Skeena Spey Lodge will help you target the multitude of species that inhabit the local rivers among which are king salmon, steelhead, coho, chinook, chum and more.
Located on the Skeena with a private launch
One of the great features of Skeena Spey Lodge is that it’s located right on the river and guests enjoy easy access to some great water right in front of the lodge. This means you can hit the home water before breakfast and even fish after dinner during the summer months if you wish.
Other areas of the Skeena are within easy reach, as are numerous tributaries for which the area is famous. Guests enjoy access to the best of the fishing waters via a fleet of comfortable jet boats which depart from a private dock immediately in front of the lodge. The fishing programme is flexible and all guiding is booked by the day. Gear can be provided and casting lessons are available for beginners or those wishing to brush up their skills.
Great Comfort and facilities
Guests will enjoy great accommodation and excellent meals at their newly renovated lodge which overlooks the Skeena River in Terrace. There are two cabin options for guests, Delux and Classic, both of which are purpose built A-Frame cabins that provide space and comfort when not on the water. The guests also have access to the main lodge building, a converted barn, that offers a bar and lounge area, games room and dining room. Meal times focus on the wonderful local produce of the area and is expertly prepared by the in-house chef.
Terrace, the regional business centre for the area, is located approximately 550 air miles northwest of Vancouver on a series of natural flat benches, or terraces (hence the name) within the broad Skeena River Valley. With its close proximity to a number of mountains and rivers, Terrace has an unlimited array of outdoor adventures for those seeking to escape the everyday. Hike on one of the local trails, climb a mountain or take a short trip to the ocean for some wildlife viewing. Whatever the season, guests will find a range of outdoor activities as well as indigenous tourism opportunities and local historical sights like George Little House.
