Scorpion Atoll
One of the world’s truly remote destinations
Scorpion Atoll is one of the most remote and pristine fly fishing destinations in the world. The variety of species and abundance of fish makes it a bucket-list location for any serious angler. After a brief hiatus we are delighted to announce that it is once again possible to fish these superb waters.
An unforgettable fly fishing experience
The atoll, designated a marine park and protected from commercial fishing, is the largest coral structure in the Gulf of Mexico and delivers an unforgettable fly fishing experience. Anglers can cast to bonefish, permit, triggerfish and a host of other Caribbean species. Based on a nimble liveaboard anglers can explore the numerous islands of the atoll fishing a variety of locations each day. Whether targeting large bonefish or permit you can be sure that your fishing time is maximised.
Comfortable accommodation
The yacht is designed to accommodate three single anglers or two single anglers and one couple who share the yacht’s queen berth. The vessel is equipped with a well-appointed living area, a fully functional kitchen and ample deck space to unwind at the end of the day.
Relatively easy to reach
Scorpion Atoll is a three to five hour boat ride from the mainland. The start point in Mexico is generally Merida which is around an hour’s flight from Miami. From here it’s another hour by car to the pick up point for the boat. Fishing is from Monday (boat departs for the atoll around 4am) to Friday (boat departs the atoll around 3pm).
