Estancia Tecka, Argentina
Miles of private trout water to explore
Estancia Tecka offers a truly solitary fishing experience across its vast 435,000 acres. Anglers can explore the ranch’s diverse fishing opportunities on the Rio Corcovado and Rio Tecka, along with several spring creeks, without encountering another person.
Superb fly fishing across 96 miles of private water
Over the 96 miles of private trout water, fishermen can enjoy a huge variety of water and a mix of walk and wade and drift fishing for brown, rainbow and brook trout. Rio Tecka is the smaller of the two rivers and features graceful sweeping ‘S’ bends and undercuts, Rio Corcovado is wider, gin-clear and accessible by drift boat, although some fishing is from freestone flats and banks. Both carry dense fish populations and ample hatches. The spring creeks found across the property provide some fun and testing fishing.
Choice of two comfortable lodges
The two lodges at Estancia Tecka are 15 miles apart. Headquarters Lodge is the original farmhouse and dates back to the 1920s. It comprises four large bedrooms, granite bathrooms and is very much of traditional estancia character. Headquarters is set in beautifully tended grounds within tall poplar trees and horse and sheep paddocks. Caridad sits on the banks of the Rio Corcovado with the snow-capped Andes as a backdrop. This lodge has six bedrooms, spacious bathrooms and has beautiful views of the surrounding river and countryside.
Stunning setting in the Patagonian wilderness
Estancia Tecka is still a working sheep ranch and is around two hours from the town of Esquel in the Chubut Province of Argentine Patagonia. It is accessed via a flight from Buenos Aires or via a border crossing through Chile.
