Family home turned fishing lodge

With its combination of colonial features and modern comfort, this family home turned fishing lodge is a delightful addition to our Mexican portfolio.
Fabulous destination for baby and juvenile tarpon
Campeche is one of the best destinations in the world for baby tarpon. A huge network of mangrove lagoons, turtle grass flats, and creeks stretches over 100km and offers plenty of opportunity for tarpon fishing year-round. The local guides have in depth knowledge of the area and provide plenty of action for first timers and accomplished anglers. The baby and juvenile tarpon here are usually keen to take a fly and if hooked, will run and jump several times, making them highly rewarding to catch. Fishing guests will enjoy breakfast on the veranda at Casa Clorinda before heading to the local marina just 15 minutes from the villa. On arrival at the marina, anglers will meet their guides and discuss plans for the day. Fishing usually lasts around nine hours, with the closest spots a 15-minute ride away and the longest just over an hour’s motoring. A picnic lunch and refreshments are provided on the boat. Casa Colorinda works with a reputable team of local outfitters and the boats are clean, well-designed, custom-built skiffs that comfortably accommodate two fishermen and a guide. The boats are spacious with large, open casting platforms.
Characterful accommodation
The villa is set in Barrio de San Francisco, one of the oldest sections in the historic colonial district of Campeche, and just a ten-minute walk to the downtown area full of ancient history and cultural heritage. Casa Clorinda offers four luxurious, air-conditioned guest rooms. Each includes a large en-suite bedroom and access to the outdoor courtyard. There is a swimming pool and comfortable living area. The kitchen is staffed with a private chef who produces delicious food based on local produce. Campeche is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there are plenty of attractions for non-fishers including various museums, historic monuments and authentic bustling markets.
Easy access
Casa Clorinda is located in southeast Mexico, on the western coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. It is just 15 minutes from Campeche International Airport which is accessed by daily flights from Mexico City International Airport. Alternative access is from Mérida International Airport from which it is a two hour drive to Campeche.
