Brook Trout Basecamp, Argentina
Access to remote fishing terrain
Brook Trout Base Camp is nestled on a peaceful bend of the Rio Corcovado and offers fishing to remote areas of the Upper Corcovado. The camp gives access to a great variety of rivers, creeks and lakes, including those which hold some of the biggest brook trout in the world.
Catch trophy brook trout
Visiting anglers have access to all waters in the area including the lakes and small streams of the Engaño and Lago Vintter watersheds, and the lakes, spring creeks and rivers in the Rio Pico area. With plenty of exclusive access and knowledgeable guides, an incredible fly fishing experience awaits.
The Engaño system holds the most pristine populations of brook trout in Patagonia. Combining the waters of the Engaño and the Rio Corcovado system, anglers can expect to encounter strong populations of brook trout, with an average weight of about three pounds, and the possibility of hooking a ten pound plus trophy brook trout. The Rio Corcovado flows out of Lago Vittner both of which hold resident and migratory populations of large rainbows.
The Rio Pico area is known for its spring creeks and small lakes holding large trout. There are also several smaller freestone rivers like the Rio Pico, Rio Pampa and Rio Nilson that offer fun walk wade fishing. There are few other anglers in the region so visitors here expect a very peaceful fishing experience.
A trip here can be combined with time at the sister lodge, El Encuentro, which offers access to a wide variety of fishing waters and is great for the angler who enjoys stalking large fish, with the option to float fish the productive large-fish as well.
A variety of activities can be arranged alongside fishing, among which are birdwatching, horse riding, trekking and cultural tours.
