Remember the Irigoyen? The river achieved a cult status over the last decade for those that were fortunate enough to visit it. Well, it’s now back and anglers have the opportunity to visit it once again through the new operation called ‘World End Lodge’.
Located in the dense lenga and Antarctic beech woodland between the towns of Ushuaia and Rio Grande, the Irigoyen offers a small, intimate river on which to target huge sea trout and more. This tree-lined river, full of intrigue and charm, offers the angler shelter from the wind that often sweeps the area and a river where a well presented cast takes precedence over hauling to the horizon.
Sunny, windless day? The sea trout are sulking? No problem, turn your attention to the robalo in the estuary and sea pools. These sea bass/mullet type fish grow to weights in excess of 15 lbs and are tremendous sport on a fly rod. Brown trout are also present and steelhead have also made an appearance over the years.
Price
The cost of the 2017 season will be US$5,990 per rod (except for the March weeks, which are priced at US$4,990). This will include fishing licences, single rooms as standard and the weeks will be limited to just four rods.
