There are exciting changes at Astove Atoll as it becomes the first all inclusive Indian Ocean fishing option. Long regarded as one of the world’s finest giant trevally fisheries Astove’s shallow lagoon, with one small entrance surrounded by sheer drop-offs truly unique. It creates a sanctuary for juvenile fish which in turn are preyed on by bigger species, making it one of the most extraordinary fly fishing destinations on the planet. Along with big GTs, Astove is home to bonefish, permit, barracuda, milkfish, bluefin trevally, triggerfish, yellowfin tuna, dogtooth tuna, wahoo, sailfish and marlin.
Away from fishing, Astove offers superb diving and snorkelling, with an abundance of pristine coral reefs to explore. It’s an important turtle nesting site too with green and hawksbill turtles using the remote sand beaches to lay their eggs. Birdlife is prolific with over 250 species recorded locally. All in all it’s a great spot for adventurous travellers who really appreciate getting away from it all.
Astove goes all inclusive
From 1st January 2025 Atove is moving to an all-inclusive package which will include all drinks, activities and diving. Anglers will benefit from complimentary drinks throughout their stay – no more surprising bar bills! To ensure the best of the fly-fishing season is covered, the Astove season will run from January to April with six anglers per week. The shortened season will allow greater ‘rest’ periods for the fishery ensuring this beautiful spot continues to offer a wonderfully memorable, and great value, fishing experience.
2025 costs fishing package
