Rio Manso is a lovely lodge in the Nahuel Huapi National Park around an hour and half’s drive from Bariloche. With miles of water to explore, and little fishing pressure, it’s a great choice for a good value fly fishing holiday. Anglers can expect super fishing for brown, rainbow and brook trout on a variety of waters including streams and rivers, intimate spring creeks and deep productive lakes. It’s location in the northern part of Patagonia also means the weather conditions tend to be a little kinder than those found further south.
We’ve worked with the team for some time and are delighted to announce a few new experiences to the already wide range on offer here.
Mid-summer float trips are now available on the Collon Cura River during February and March. There is no additional charge and the two night/three day trips have become part of a regular week at the lodge.
There is more small stream fishing being introduced which will satisfy those anglers who prefer wading to floating. Although the lodge already has access to some water that offers wading, the new private water encompasses nearly nine miles of small to medium size river that can be wade fished, and even floated early in the season.
It’s also worth mentioning that the epic dragon fly dry-fly fishing continues to be some of the best in all of Patagonia. It’s something the lodge is justly famous for – though that should not detract from the regular dry fly and streamer action which should not be overlooked.
In addition to outstanding fishing, you will find comfortable accommodation, delicious cuisine, accommodating staff, and all the other things that make a fishing destination great.
