Another great fishing week came to an end at Estancia Maria Behety Lodge and it was the best so far.
We had the pleasure of the visit of some good old friends and some new guests from United States and England. Excellent group of anglers.
155 fish landed. 24 of them were over 15 pounds and 4 over 20 pounds.
Our dear friend Dave Parkes was the top rod with 23 fish in the net.
Tony Bennett and Karl Simmons landed two 21 pounders.
Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: Clear an low water until Friday. River started to rise and got a bit cloudy after a heavy rain we had on wednesday
Water temperature: 8° C and 15° C
Water level and amount of increase or decrease through the week: Water level came up on Friday about 3-4 inches.
Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week: It was windy this week. 0 to 100 kmh
Air temperature ranges through the week: 5°C to 19°C
Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best at Estancia Maria Behety Lodge: Fly of the week was EMB. Small size nymphs like TDF prince, prince nymph, red tail. Also yuk bugs and wooly buggers. Big flies for the last 30 minutes in the evening: Intruders, tube flies and articulated leeches.
Green machine and sunray shadow worked well on floating and intermediate tips.
Only big flies on Friday due the color of the water.
Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc) that are producing the best: We used everything between floating and 15 feet of T-20.
Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 4 to 12 feet. 15 to 20 pounds.
