April 2025 sees some changes to the Brazilian visa policy for travellers from the USA, Canada and Australia. All citizens from these countries will require a visitor visa (VIVIS) to enter Brazil.

The Brazilian government has implemented a new and streamlined electronic visa application process, designed to be faster, more convenient, and entirely online—eliminating the need for in-person appointments or consulate visits.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Apply Online in Minutes
All visa applications must now be submitted through the official platform operated by VFS Global, Brazil’s authorized visa service provider: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/

2. Quick Processing
Most visas are processed within 3 business days or less, making it easy to plan even last-minute trips.

3. 5-Year Validity
The new visa is valid for up to 5 years, with multiple entries allowed. Visitors can stay up to 90 days per visit, with possible extensions available.

4. Cost-Effective and User-Friendly
While a standard processing fee applies, the overall cost is considered fair—especially given the extended validity and digital convenience.

5. Flexible for Frequent Travellers
This new system is ideal for our returning guests and fishing partners who visit Brazil multiple times per year for hosted trips, exploratory travel, or return expeditions to their favourite waters.

Before applying, we recommend reviewing the specific requirements and supporting documents listed on the VFS Global website to ensure a smooth application process.
