All told, a fly fishing holiday in Brazil is a truly memorable experience and so much more than just an angling expedition. You’ll find the week-by-week season reports here while this Kendjam 2024 season end report sums up the action from another unforgettable year.
This year brought incredible fishing, special encounters, and the deepening of our ties with the Kayapo indigenous communities. We faced an unusually dry season, but the rivers still rewarded us with thrilling catches and unforgettable moments.
Across the entire season, 4,014 fish were landed, averaging more than eight fish per day per angler with an impressive variety of species captured — 12 in total. Most of our guests managed to land at least six different species during their stay, with many achieving the coveted “Jungle Grand Slam,” catching four different species in a single day.
- Biggest fish of the season
- Wolf fish: 92cm
- Peacock bass: 67cm
- Matrinxã: 54cm

This remarkable diversity and action-packed fishing experience demonstrate, once again, that Kendjam truly is the destination for anglers seeking non-stop action in crystal-clear waters and unbeatable sight fishing. Year after year, Kendjam continues to prove itself as the ultimate paradise for those who crave adventure and the thrill of visual fishing in the heart of the jungle.
This year was also about more than just fishing. We had two weeks dedicated to ecotourism, welcoming families and children between the ages of five and 12. The Amazon proved to be the perfect playground for both seasoned adventurers and young explorers, as they embraced the jungle, its rivers, and its wildlife.
We were fortunate enough to witness the majestic jaguar on seven occasions, a powerful reminder of the untouched wilderness surrounding us. These rare sightings added even more magic to an already incredible year, showing once again the richness and vitality of this unique destination.
Our collaboration with the Kayapo was stronger than ever, and the season’s economic success will directly benefit the communities of Kendjam and Karema. The income generated this year will help fund vital projects, including the installation of solar energy to improve the quality of life for these communities—a powerful example of sustainable tourism in action.
