Kentchuch, on the English/Welsh border in Herefordshire, is a 5,000-acre estate enjoying varied landscape and topography. With its rolling hills, woodland and parkland, the drives produce a good spread of birds. There is shooting for all abilities, with some drives showing the highest birds in the area.
Kentchurch offers both pheasant and partridge shooting and has dedicated drives for each, The Orchard, Castle and Garlicks to name a few. As the leaves come off the trees, guns venture into the woodland for fun and challenging shooting standing on woodland rides.
Guests have the option to stay fully catered in the main house set in the heart of the estate. If this is not required, there are other local accommodation options nearby.
The usual plan is to meet at The Bridge Inn to have coffee, draw pegs before heading off onto the first drive at 09.30. Lunch is back at The Bridge Inn followed by a drive or two before tea and saying goodbyes to the team and keeper.
Kentchurch can show days from 250+ bird day with the cost per bird £59 + vat.
