Alphonse Fishing Report 14th – 26th September 2021
The week started with some of the best conditions we have had so far this season. The tides provided great giant trevally fishing opportunities, with lots of fish being seen and caught throughout the week.
Starting with the gangsters of the flats (AKA GTs), both Ed and Nikki caught their first, with Nikki’s husband Rob catching several also. As always, the bonefish have been plentiful, although the bigger fish were scarce this week.
Chris, Jessica, Emma, Isabella, Alex, Olivia, Danny, and Blakely joined the bonefish club this week by catching their first bone on fly. Ben was hailed the angler of the week with a GT of 110 cm, Indo-Pacific permit of 39 cm and a few days of 20+ bonefish.
On the blue water boat, Chris, Jessica, Olivia, Florence and Emma all caught their first sailfish, while Isabella, Florence, Chris, Olivia, Jessica and Gabba caught their first wahoo and Emma her first barracuda. Florence and Gabba were fortunate enough to catch their fish on a fly.
Well done to all the anglers for a fantastic week fishing and some memorable catches. With the last few puffs of southeast winds coming through and some steaming-hot days ahead, it looks like the next few weeks are going to be spectacular.
