Chase your dream fish at Tropic Star Lodge, Panama
Tropic Star guests catch more fish in June, July, August & September than any other time of year so why not head West in search of that fish of a lifetime. 150 miles South East of Panama City in the pristine and remote Darien Jungle, Tropic Star Lodge has more fishing world records to it’s name than any other. With the reef only 20 minutes away, you spend more time fishing and less time travelling.
The waters off Tropic Star Lodge have the widest variety of species during summer season and the fishing is fantastic. It’s BLUE MARLIN season and offshore the fishing is on fire with boats returning to the dock with flags flying and coolers full. Guests catch and release blue marlin and sailfish. Huge dorado, fast moving wahoo, and delicious yellowfin tuna (many over 100 lbs) are brought back for our chefs to prepare and present to our lucky guests.
It’s not all about offshore! The fishing inshore offers rod- bending action with plenty of Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Alamaco Jacks and African Pompano keeping mates and guests busy with multiple releases.
It doesn’t just have to be about the fishing. With a few extra days, open your eyes to explore further. From the air, the ships of the Panama Canal appear suddenly, the colors and massive bodies of the vessels mystify the eye. Their captains’ voyage from afar to the waters where the Atlantic greets the Pacific. For a traveler, landing in the metropolis of Panama City is like peering into a kaleidoscope. Turn each degree, and you’ll find a stunning arrangement of architecture or a sweeping horizon. But choose to wander outside the city a jaunt away and you’ll find wild country capable of capturing the soul.
