On my recent trip to Providence Atoll in the Seychelles we encountered huge schools of milkfish on the west side of the atoll. Fishing for milks when feeding in the weed lanes off the edge of the atoll is very different from fishing inside the atoll on the flats. Milkfish are high on every saltwater fly fishermen’s hit list so we were eager to get involved.
In an effort to prepare us, Matthieu Cosson gave us a very detailed description of the techniques to employ in catching them in this situation. Matthieu is one of the few guides that have guided on all the atolls in the Seychelles so his insight was invaluable. This nine minute film outlines these techniques and we hope you will find it interesting.
