Tregoyd shoot is consistently ranked among the top shoots in the country, offering challenging birds that can test even the most skilled shooters. Situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons between the Black Mountains, just over the border into South Wales, this shoot spans 3,000 acres of stunning countryside. The varied topography includes steep-sided valleys, traditional open parkland, and woodland rides, ensuring a diverse and demanding day of shooting. The mixed bags primarily focus on pheasants as the season progresses, with the size of the shoot varying from 300 to 500 birds per day. 4×4 vehicles are required to navigate the terrain, but assistance can be provided if necessary.

Local accommodation allows the team to relax before or after the shoot, with The Foyles Hotel, located just a five-minute drive from the shoot lodge, being highly recommended.

The day begins with coffee upon arrival, followed by drawing pegs, aiming to be on the pegs by 09:30. Typically, four drives are completed before lunch at the shoot lodge, with a final drive in the afternoon. The day concludes with tea at the lodge, after which we bid farewell and thank the keeper.
